It is because government funding is mostly focused on the urban areas. These make them money. So rural areas always get left behind

i agree, small towns need to help themselves. discovering a place's potentials will be very beneficial to all its constituents. it will encourage optimism and inspiration to the locals too.

These are great suggestions. Small towns need to band together and look to the future, in order to create a future for their communities. It is obvious that those towns who have a vision and a positive attitude are thriving and attracting new businesses. That is the key to a great rural America for the future.
